What are those purple belt thingys that Sound Ninja wear in Naruto?

I would like to know what to call them, because I am trying to describe a Sound Ninja and I seriously don't know what the hell you call those things (I guess you can call them a belt, but they're wrapped around all funny like a present or a shoe)...
